It’s easy for people of average height and weight to find a good massage chair to buy. The only thing they need to consider is the features they want and their budget. But for three types of folks who don’t fit the mold, finding a good massage chair is slightly more challenging. These folks are people who are either too tall, too short, or too big.
The problem is not just about being able to fit in the chair or being comfortable. The primary issue when it comes to massage chair usage is that the right body parts get the massage (or heat) intended for those areas. For example, if you’re too tall, the neck rollers might not align directly against your neck.
We’ve already put together a list of the best massage chairs for short folks, so today, let’s talk about the best massage chairs for tall people. This list took months of research!
Best Massage Chairs For 6’1″ And Taller
Best Value: Ootori Asuka A-600
- Height Range: Up to 6’4″
- Max Weight: Up to 400 lbs
- Price: $
When I reviewed the Ootori Asuka I had just come off writing about some disappointing chairs, so it was a welcome change! For such an affordable price, you get some really good features — ones that normally only the most expensive chairs would have.
The designers of this chair incorporated the following:
- Shoulder rollers that can be adjusted to 3 widths: 4 cm, 12 cm, and 21 cm. This means that whether you are lean or broad-shouldered, the rollers can be adjusted to hit their targets.
- Extendable leg rest. The calf massage area can be extended up to 6 inches. This is great news for long-legged users.
- Body scan. The body scan feature automatically detects your body’s shape, height, and spine placement in order to give you a massage best suited to your body type.
Pros
- Adjusts to different body types
- Has premium features like 1) body scan, 2) three Zero Gravity positions, 3) 3D massage rollers, 4) lumbar heating, 5) foot rollers, and 6) space-saving technology.
- Great foot roller massage
- No assembly
- Low price tag
Cons
- Weak heat

The Osaki OS 4000T is such a great chair that it made it to two of our top lists. It made it into our Top 10 Massage Chairs and our Top Massage Chairs for Short People.
When you think about it, it’s quite a feat that it can accommodate such differing heights on both ends of the spectrum. It can fit a person as short as 4’6″ to a person as tall as 6’2″. It adjusts very well for these height ranges.

Best Mid-Range: Titan TP-Pro 8400
No products found.
- Height Range: Up to 6’3″ feet tall
- Max Weight: Up to 275 lbs
- Price: $$
When talking about the Titan line of chairs, my favorite would be the Alpine. Despite being double the price of the 8400, it justifies its price tag with its overall sophistication in design and performance. The Titan 8400 outstrips its more expensive sibling in one important regard though. It offers a better massage for taller folks. Both have ottoman length adjustment, but the 8400 hits your neck better via manual adjustment.
Pros
- Mid-range priced chair
- Adjustable ottoman and manual neck settings for tall people
- Good fit for people with broad shoulders; shoulder airbags are flared out
- Comes with an L-track, meaning it can massage up to your buttocks and hamstrings
- Includes features like 1) body scan, 2) zero gravity technology, 3) calf and foot massage, 4) arm and hand massage, 5) lumbar heating, and 6) space-saving technology
Cons
- Missing some core features like 3D rollers and hip airbags

Best Chiropractic: Osaki OS-7200H Pinnacle
- Height Range: Up to 6’3″ feet tall
- Max Weight: Up to 265 lbs
- Price: $$$
We previously published a list of the best massage chair brands you can trust and it was a rather a short list because of the high standards that we put in place. Out of the 5 that we shortlisted, Osaki was one of the them. Although their chairs are manufactured in China, their products are designed and built very well. Also, their HQ in Texas provides awesome customer support (unlike other brands with either bad or non-existent support).
Which brings us to the OS-7200H. This model comes with a higher price tag but justifies the higher cost with the slew of additional features listed below.
Because it is so solidly built, it can accommodate a person who is up to 6’3″ feet tall and weighting up to 275 lbs.
Pros
- Excellent design, solid build, and durable
- Excellent massage programs (auto and manual)
- Additional features include body and leg scan, zero gravity, heat therapy for both lumbar and leg areas, chromotherapy, arm and hand massage, and foot and calf massage
- Pelvis and waist swaying massage is perfect for people with lower back pain or spine problems
Cons
- No space-saving feature and also very heavy; you will need White Glove service to help you assemble this chair
Read more about its specs and features in our full review of the Osaki OS-7200H.
- Zero Gravity - The multi stage zero gravity position will minimize the vertical pressure along the spine axis
- Quad Roller Head Massage System- The OS-7200h is equipped with twin rollers to mimic the feel of human thumbs and fingers, enhancing the...
- 51 Air Bag Massagers - Fifty one air bags are accurately placed to massage the vital areas such as the neck, shoulder, back, seat, arms,...

Summing Up
I’m personally a little disappointed at the lack of options on the market for tall people. While there are a lot of chairs that claim to be suitable for that niche, they are often quite poorly reviewed.
Having said all that, there are some chairs I would have wanted to add in but didn’t because they are no longer available. These are the Inada Sogno and the Inada Dreamwave. Although belonging to the older generation of massage chairs, they are quality chairs that fit big and tall people easily.
Happy shopping!
