We thought nothing could top the popular Kahuna LM6800 when it comes to value for money. We shouldn’t have been surprised but apparently it takes another Kahuna massage chair to do just that.
The Kahuna Hubot HM-078 is a well-made and feature-rich chair that comes at a price point that is lower than what you would expect from a chair of this caliber.

Excellent Value for Money
For anyone on a budget that still wants all of the features of a more expensive massage chair, the Hubot HM-078 is an excellent option. It comes packed with features you typically only find with more expensive products, and you can enjoy them without hurting your budget.
The redesigned HSL-Track combined with the zero gravity feature gives you an all over body massage that reaches to your lower back. You also get an anti-stress head massage feature and built-in Bluetooth with speakers so you can surround yourself with your favorite music when you relax.
Quality Assembly
The Kahuna brand is one of the few brands that we trust here on CompleteHomeSpa and happily, the Hubot stays true to form. Little things like the manual or the remote may be disappointing but the chair itself is a quality piece which we expect to last for years.
Pro Tip: If you choose to put it together yourself, you may want to wait and connect any wires in the arms last. This can help you avoid any connectivity issues.

Easy to Move
Massage chairs, in general, are usually heavy, and this one weighs in at over 300 pounds. (Our previous favourite, the Kahuna LM6800 is 50 lbs lighter than the Hubot.)
Normally, this would make it difficult for one person to move the chair around on their own or adjust the position. The Kahuna brand took steps to make this process easier.
This model comes with wheels along the base. These wheels make it possible for you to slide the chair along the floor quickly and easily. You’ll be able to move it around or adjust the position by yourself without injuring yourself or having to wait for another person to help you.
Space-Saving Design
If you don’t have a lot of extra room in your home for a bulky piece of furniture, the HM-078 model could be a good fit. It is designed to be space-saving. This makes it easy to store and use, even if you have restricted space.
This space-saving design extends to the zero gravity feature as well. You only need 5 inches between the chair and the wall to go into zero gravity mode, and you can slide it back against the wall when you’re not using it.

And if you expect the app to be clunky, you’re dead wrong. It has a very user-friendly design that appeals to tech novices and veterans alike.
You can do everything from the app. It lets you quickly and easily choose what massage function you’d like to use, engage the zero gravity function, increase or decrease the massage intensity, use the heat function, and much more. You can also control the Bluetooth speakers from the app which is super convenient.
Cons
Remote Control Isn’t Great
It’s a good thing the chair comes with an app because a lot of buyers have issues with the remote control and its small interface.
The remote also contains no back lighting, and this can make the remote difficult to use in low light conditions. If you’re in the dark, you’ll have to have a light source to see the buttons on the remote.
Instruction Manual Isn’t Helpful
As with most massage chairs, the instruction manual that comes with it isn’t useful. If you’re trying to use it to assemble your chair, you should be aware that it’s missing a few steps. The language is obviously translated and you’d think a big company like this could afford to get a professional to translate.
The chair comes in four parts, so it’s not extremely difficult to put together. You can also pay a little bit more for the White Glove treatment. If you do, the company will deliver and assemble the chair for you. It takes roughly an hour to put the chair together completely.
If you are suffering from back or muscle problems, spare yourself a busted back and hire White Glove.
Assembly Difficulty
If you choose to put the chair together yourself, it’s a good idea to read through everything first to make sure that you understand how it goes together. It does only come in four pieces, but there is wiring to attach as well.
You should put the chair together first, and leave the left and right arms for last. When you have them together, then you can move on to the wiring aspects of the chair. This will help to ensure that you don’t accidentally break or strip any of the wiring and it’ll be out of the way.

Not Ideal for Tall People
The chair only extends so far. This includes the leg rests because they only extend seven inches. This massage chair can comfortably accommodate a person that is just over six feet tall and who weighs 300 pounds.
If you’re larger than this, you may find that this chair is too constrictive or short for you to comfortably relax and enjoy your massage. The neck and shoulder massages won’t also hit the right places in case you’re too tall for the chair.
If you’re over six feet tall, you may want to consider buying a larger chair to ensure that you can fit comfortably.
Does Not Retract
Although the chair does have a space-saving design, it’s limited. Some massage chairs retract after you use them to save you even more space. The HM-078 does not have the capability to retract after you use it.
Conclusion
The 3D Kahuna Hubot HM-078 is a medium-priced massage chair that comes equipped with a lot of the features that you’ll get with a more expensive chair. When you combine these features with the KMS-08M-225L massage system, the longer track, and the app feature, you get an excellent product that’s value for your money.
