A recliner chair is possibly the most versatile piece of furniture you’ll ever own. Whether it’s movie night or midnight baby feeds, or the centerpiece of a space-saving studio apartment – a recliner offers something for everyone.

Even better are those that can recline to a fully horizontal position since they serve double-duty as both chair and bed. We’ve been on the hunt for great recliners with a special focus on how comfortable they are. Here’s the list we’ve come up with.

The 5 Most Comfortable Recliner Chairs

#5: Lloyd Black Leather Reclining Club Chair

This is a small, elegant club-style reclining chair. It doesn’t offer lie-flat reclining and is smaller than it appears. However, it would make ideal, stylish additional seating, and would be a great addition to a teenager’s bedroom.

Pros:

• Elegant and stylish
• Good for small spaces

Cons:

• Smaller than it looks
• Doesn’t recline flat

Value For Money?

If you’re looking for a smart, elegant addition to a small space, the Lloyd Club Recliner Chair could be a choice to consider. It is a reasonable price for a leather chair, too.

#4: Recliner Genius 360 Swivel Massage Chair

While it’s definitely an investment rather than a casual purchase, if you’re looking for stylish pampering, this could be the recliner for you!

Available in a choice of black or brown fabric, the chair rocks, reclines, and swivels through the full 360 degrees, making it a great choice for the executive who likes to relax at their desk.

Offering thick, padded armrests and a three-point vibrating heat massage for the ultimate in comfort, this is definitely decadence in furniture form.

On the downside, this is an awkward chair to get up out of, and the footrest could definitely use more padding, especially as it features vibrating massage balls, which, through the thin fabric, are quite painful. (For more massage chair options, check our amazing list on this page.)

Pros:

• Range of luxury points – rock, recline, swivel, and massage
• Padded armrests for comfort

Cons:

• Footrest could do with more padding
• Awkward to operate the heat-only function of massage feature
• Difficult to get up out of

Value For Money?

This is a fairly pricey recliner, with a couple of significant drawbacks. Definitely worth thinking long and hard about before purchasing.

#3: Giantex Manual Recliner

Presented in stylish black leather, this recliner is smaller than it looks, and not suited to those over 6′ 4”, as it begins to feel cramped and uncomfortable in terms of stretching out.

It is, however, easy to assemble.

Pros:

• Stylish
• Easy to assemble

Cons:

• Not ideal for very tall individuals

Value For Money?

This is a reasonably priced leather recliner, and, for those under 6’4”, could be a very comfortable chair.

#2: Baby Relax Mikayla

Originally designed as a little spot of comfort and luxury for nursing mothers, the Mikayla is stylish enough to fit in with any room, not just the nursery or bedroom.

It swivels, glides, and reclines, including to a fully horizontal position, and is made of soft, comfortable material.

It is also easy to assemble, with the only drawback being that the leg rest can prove a little difficult to lower.

Pros:

• Stylish contemporary design
• Soft and comfortable
• Reclines flat
• Easy assemble

Cons:

• Footrest can be awkward to lower

Value For Money?

While this definitely isn’t a cheap recliner, it does combine comfort, style, and full functionality, so is definitely worth considering if you’re looking for an investment purchase.

#1: Dorel Living Padded Dual Massage Recliner

An easy-clean rocker recliner, which reclines to a fully horizontal position, available in chocolate or tan, the Dorel Living recliner also features a foam padded seat for additional comfort

The massage function offers upper and/or lower back zone massage, although the massage function can make the chair feel somewhat hot to sit in, and isn’t as strong as some people would prefer. However, for a touch of relaxing luxury at the end of a long day, it is exactly what most people would expect, and want.

Pros:

• Reclines flat
• Padded seat for extra comfort
• Rock, recline, and massage function

Cons:

• Massage function isn’t particularly strong
• Chair does start to feel hot when massage function is in use

Value For Money?

This could be a good investment for someone looking for a basic, relaxing massage recliner chair.
