Pros

Great price

Esright Massage Recliner Chair Heated Composite Material Ergonomic Lounge 360 Degree Swivel (Cream)

For not much cash, you get a classy-looking recliner with massage and heat.

Automatic shut-off

The heating and massage automatically shuts off after 20 minutes of use. This is a built-in safety feature to ensure that the chair does not overheat.

Also, prolonged massages may be contraindicated to some people so breaks in between are good for both your chair and yourself.

Heating does not get uncomfortably warm

We’ve reviewed chairs in which the temperature got too high for comfort, but the Esright keeps the heat level just right. It’s a wonderful feature for cold nights and aching backs.

Reviews are genuine

Many buyers have been suckered into purchasing items online because of good shared reviews from fellow buyers. However, some sellers submit fake reviews in order to push up their customer review scores.

One of the good things about Esright, however, is that their product page on Amazon and other review sites have real reviews. So everything you read on there – both raves and complaints – are legit.

Cons

The footrest is a common complaint

The most common complaint about the Esright recliner is that the footrest does not close. It appears to be a design problem, and many buyers have experienced it. It is a deal-breaker for some, and these people have attempted to return their chair with varying degrees of success.

One resourceful person was able to find a fix for his chair though. It involves going under the (stuck) footrest to check for a triangular piece of wood on each side. If any or both pieces are sticking out too far and keeping the footrest from closing properly, press on the protruding pieces until they bend or snap back. You will have to apply some force to get the footrest back down again.

As you can see, it seems like a lot of effort for something that should work seamlessly.

Chair lists to one side

The manufacturer advertises that it can seat a heavy person. However, speaking from experience, the chair is best suited for people no taller than 6 feet with moderate weight. Anything heavier and you may notice wear and tear on the chair including listing to the side.

Massage isn’t anything to write home about

Because the chair only offers vibration massage, buyers cannot experience the joy of rollers, body scans, and so on. However, we have to keep in mind the very low price tag on this. Regardless, the heating has gotten more positive reviews than the massage feature.

Durability

There are issues with the durability of the Esright recliner. Apart from the flawed footrest and listing to the side, there are also reports of snapped back rests or wobbly armrests. Keep in mind that this is not applicable to all units though.

Mixed Reviews

This chair has an overall satisfaction rating of 50%. This is reflected on mixed reviews on the below:

Conclusion

The Esright recliner chair has gotten mixed reviews. Some people are very happy that they were able to buy such a cheap chair with extra features, while some feel that they have simply thrown money away.

We would say that the satisfied buyers are those who did not get the footrest problem. These are also the same people who had it in mind to get a simple recliner, and so are happy to have both massage and heating as added bonuses to the chair.

The extra storage spaces have been similarly praised for being very useful. We would also hazard a guess that these buyers are of medium build and are not too heavy-handed with their furniture.

If you need durability though, are built heavier than normal, and want some real massage from rollers, you will need to shell out more than a couple of hundred bucks to get what you want.

In our opinion, you should check out more recliner chair brands and models. For the same price, you can get more bang for your buck. Check out our list of the Top 5 Recliner Chairs.
