You’re about to have an awesome night catching up on Z’s, and you’re brushing your teeth with merry abandon. But when you look in the mirror – disaster!
It’s a pimple emergency! Oh, the humanity! You have a job interview en la manana and absolutely HAVE to know how to remove acne overnight.
Now, a zit is not necessarily the end of the world, but we know how frustrating acne can be! It makes us feel self-conscious and super-stressed – not ideal preparation for your big day.
If you don’t yet know how to properly treat acne: be careful. Popping acne or trying to scrape a zit away can lead to long-term skin damage and unsightly scars. But we have good news for you–getting rid of a pimple isn’t actually that difficult.
You don’t need expensive lotions full of artificial products or pricey treatments that don’t actually help. Instead of trying fads or gimmicks, use natural remedies to get rid of zits overnight. These methods are cheap and effective.
First, why do we get pimples in the first place? Well—that’s a question with a lot of different answers. Pimples can be caused by lifestyle changes, fatty diets, eating food your body doesn’t like, stress, and hormonal changes.
How To Get Rid Of Acne
So, without further ado, here are some natural techniques you can use to get rid of a stubborn zit.
Step 1: Suppress
The first step you should take is to suppress the pimple. Take an ice cube and wrap it in a small towel or a thin cotton cloth. Then, gently pat or dab your zit. This will clean it and help cool it down, taking away some of the pain. Plus, that cold temperature will cause your zit to shrink ever so slightly.
Step 2: Spot treatment
It can be frustrating to read an acne treatment recipe, then go to your pantry only to realize you don’t have the ingredients! Don’t worry about that here–we’ve prepared four different recipes you can use:
1. One Drop of Tea Tree Oil
Take this small amount of tea tree oil and dab it on your pimple. Leave it on for 20 minutes, then wipe it away with a cotton ball.
2. One Drop of Raw Papaya Juice
One option for those of you with sensitive skin is to grind up a small slice of papaya and strain out the juice. Then just apply on the zit and leave for 20 minutes and wipe away.
3. Three Drops of Lemon Juice + 1/2 Teaspoon of Honey
Combine these ingredients well in a small bowl and then lather it onto your zit. After 20 minutes—okay, okay, you know the drill.
4. Half a Teaspoon of Potato Juice + 1 Pinch of Cinnamon Powder
You’ll get the potato juice by grating the potato and then straining it. Then add a tiny bit of cinnamon powder, apply it on your pimple, and leave it for 20 minutes. Make sure that the cotton ball you are using is clean! If you are practicing these treatments on several different pimples, don’t reuse your dirty cotton balls!
Pro-tip: Don’t poke or pop. When you poke a pimple, it inflames the inside and outside of your skin. You don’t want to do this! Popping pimples often worsens your acne and causes an outbreak around the initial zit, making your minor problem much worse. Plus, picking and popping actually delay the healing process.
Step 3: Healing
The last step of this treatment is to take 1/2 a teaspoon of aloe vera gel, crush 3 mint leaves and mix it all together. Pat it gently onto your skin, then leave it overnight. You should wake up with wonderfully clear skin.

Summing Up
There you go: a quick, pain-free way to make those zits disappear. Just remember that, like a lot of other things in life, getting acne to disappear is largely a waiting game. If you’re patient enough to refrain from touching your face, those pimples should disappear super quickly.
