But Please Massage My Arch, My Achy Breaky Arch
Here at Complete Home Spa we love nothing better than moving from station to station in our little relaxation area. We float from the massage chair to our little home sauna to our rain shower – but the thing that gets the most use is our cute little foot massager. Jane and I use it pretty much every evening after work and if we come home at the same time there are discussions.
While we were researching which one to buy we were a bit overwhelmed by all the options, so to save you the same trouble we’ve put together this list of the best 9. There’s a range of prices, and all have pros and cons. But any one is better than not having a daily foot massage. Read the guide, choose the one you like best, follow the Amazon link, and a week from now you’ll be sighing contentedly as your worries are kneaded away.
1. Best for Foot Pain: Homedics FMS-270H Deep Kneading Shiatsu
The Homedics FMS-270H foot massager is an updated version of their highly popular FMS-200H product. For the same price, you get 6 rotating massage heads (up from the FMS-200H’s 4). Together with its 18 massage nodes, the massage rollers apply a deep-kneading shiatsu massage to relax your feet and relieve pain. There’s also a heat option you can enable.
Note that this may not be the best foot massager for you if you have sensitive feet. The massage rollers are quite strong and the massage intensity may bother you. Otherwise, it’s excellent at relieving foot pain and tension.
Interestingly, this foot massager comes with easy toe-touch control so that you don’t need to bother bending over to press the buttons. You can just use your feet! The first press turns on the massage function, the second turns on the heat, and the third turns it off.
This product is sized 14.5 x 13.5 x 4.5 inches and weighs around 6 pounds.

2. Best Shiatsu Massager: Belmint
The Belmint Shiatsu foot massager boasts 2 independent foot chambers that apply a shiatsu massage to the sides and soles of your feet. It uses a combination of a deep-kneading massage and a vibrating massage to relax your muscles and improve your blood circulation.
It has a free-standing design and has a control panel built in where you can customize your massage settings to your satisfaction. You can select from 5 levels of massage intensities for the kneading massage, and 3 levels for the vibrating massage. The kneading massage rollers are quite powerful, so that the highest intensity actually feels rather painful. Level 2 seems to be the preferred level for relaxation.
The Belmint foot massager is generously sized. Size 12 feet can still fit in with plenty of room, as well as wide feet. Just make sure to put your feet in before turning it on as the air bags inflate as soon as you activate it.
As its name implies, it has an independent heat option that you can turn on to go with your massage. Note that the heat isn’t very powerful, however. It’s barely noticeable.
It comes with a detachable and washable cloth dust cover. It measures 17.7 x 15 x 18.1 inches in size, and weighs 12 pounds. The heat goes up to 140°F in about 7 minutes.

- STRESS AND PAIN RELIEF: Optional heat function for soothing heat and improved blood and oxygen flow, allows for heat only use; Vibrating...

3. Best for Circulation: Sunpentown Infrared Massager
The first thing that catches your eye about the Sunpentown foot massager is its color. Unlike its somberly colored competitors, this foot massager is a refreshing shade of periwinkle. It’s made of plastic and comes with a remote control. You can program the massage timer for up to 15 minutes before it automatically shuts off. It offers 8 infrared treatments to choose from, and a rather astonishing 12 whole levels of vibration intensity. You’ll also be able to switch between auto and manual modes for the massage.
What’s interesting about this product is that it focuses specifically on improving blood circulation. The Sunpentown foot massager features an infrared heating system on top of its high frequency vibration and magnetism. It also touts the massaging of acupuncture points to improve blood flow and unclogging blood vessels. Judging by the reviews of pleased customers, it looks like it succeeds in its goal. If you have a problem with poor blood circulation in your legs and feet, add this one to your shortlist.
You may run into an issue where the vibration causes the Sunpentown to run away from you. Just use a throw carpet to keep it in place.
This foot massager is sized 14 x 14.5 x 9 inches, and is 11 pounds in weight.
- Remote controlled
- Before purchasing this product, please consult your doctor if it is suitable for you.
- Timer (up to 15 minutes)

4. Best for Arches: Brookstone 839379 Shiatsu
The Brookstone 839379 foot massager will score points from anyone who likes air massage technology. Brookstone is a trusted name when it comes to massage products. Also, it just looks so cozy that you can’t help but want to put your feet in. It’s a black half-dome with two little cushioned cubbyholes for your feet.
It has massage rollers that apply a deep-kneading shiatsu massage, as well as air compression for an air massage. There’s also an independent heat option that can further relax your feet. You’ll be able to select from a couple of massage intensity levels, as well as 3 auto massage programs (Energize, Soothe, and Pulse).
The massage works as advertised and is able to relieve foot pain quite effectively. It also improves blood circulation in the feet. Most notably, it’s proven quite effective at massaging the arches of the feet no matter how high—something that its competitors may struggle with.
The Brookstone 839379 comes with an easy-grab handle to make storage and retrieval a breeze.
This product is sized 16.8 x 8.8 x 14.4 inches and weighs about 12 pounds. It will fit up to 12.5 men’s shoe size and 14 for women.
- Refresh tired, achy feet. 3 auto massage programs: Soothe, Pulse, Energize
- Shiatsu massage kneads out muscle tightness
- Compression massage squeezes away tension

5. Best Oscillating Massager: Medi-Rub 2000 Plus
True to its brand name, the Medi-Rub foot massager looks appropriately medicinal.
Actually it looks like some lego – the worst thing in the world to stand on. Thankfully in this case looks are deceiving…
Philip
It’s colored a hospital green and has uniform ridged pattern to it clearly meant to target pressure points on your feet. It’s targeted towards improving the blood circulation in your feet.
This foot massager comes with a heavy-duty motor with 2 levels of intensity you can choose from.
Note that, unlike a lot of its competitors, this doesn’t give a vibrating massage. Instead, it oscillates, moving your feet in a circular path during the massage. This seems to have a longer-lasting effect on improving blood circulation than just vibration does.
What’s particularly interesting about the Medi-Rub foot massager is that it actually is meant to be used by people with diabetes and neuropathy. Most of its competitors are very careful to warn people with these existing conditions away from their products, stating that the products aren’t safe for their use. The Medi-Rub makes no such distinctions and in fact states that its motor is widely used by such customers. If this sounds appealing then you’re as wise as you are good-looking. We didn’t buy this one in the end, but it was close.
This product measures 18 x 12 x 12 inches and weighs around 14 pounds.

6. Best for Strong Massage: uComfy Shiatsu
The uComfy foot massager offers a deep-kneading shiatsu massage, a heated air massage, and a vibrating massage. These are all independent of each other, so you can mix the treatments you’d like together for your own customized massage.
You’ll also be able to choose from 5 levels of massage intensity by pressing the + and – buttons under the ‘vibration’ label. (The default setting is level 3 when you turn it on.) This also changes the intensity of the air massage, and accordingly, the pressure of the air bags on your feet.
You’ll want to try the lower settings first and work your way up, because this foot massager means business. Its rollers are pretty powerful and will give you an intense massage experience. For all that, however, the motor is surprisingly quiet and you’ll be able to fall asleep if you so please.
Make sure your feet are fully and correctly slotted into the foot holds. Otherwise, the massage can be painful as the rollers will be positioned under the wrong areas of your feet.
Something to keep in mind is that this massager only presses against the bottom and a bit on top of your feet—it doesn’t press on the sides of your feet at all. You may find this isn’t the best foot massager for you if it’s side foot massages you need.
This product measures 17.7 x 15 x 18.1 inches and weighs 12 pounds.

7. Best Heating Function: Beurer FM60 Foot Massager
The Beurer FM60 foot massager looks peculiar—rather like a weighing scale with odd lumps under the surface. Fortunately, it feels a great deal more comfortable.
The reason the surface looks the way it does is that it’s made of a breathable mesh material, layered over 18 rotating massage heads (9 for each foot). Note that this is an impressive number of massage heads in a foot massager compared to the other products on the market. The massage heads provide a deep-kneading foot massage, with 2 levels of massage intensity to choose from. The sheer thoroughness and intensity of the massage you can get from 18 massage rollers is what makes this model stand out.
There’s an independent heating feature you can opt to turn on to soothe your feet while you take your massage. The heat isn’t amazing—just somewhat warm, like infrared. Nevertheless, it’s still better than the heating function on most of its competition. The heat also starts working after just a minute.
The Beurer FM60 foot massager has twisting pegs at its base that can be adjusted to raise or lower the foot massager. This lets you customize its height according to your chair height and the length of your legs, for maximum comfort.
This product measures 37.5 x 43 x 11 inches in size and weighs 6 pounds. It’s large enough to comfortably fit men’s feet size 13.

8. Best Manual Massager: TheraFlow Dual Foot Roller
The TheraFlow foot massager is vastly different from all the other foot massagers we’ve listed so far, and its differences could make it the worst or the best foot massager for you, depending on your taste.
This quirky-looking product doesn’t use any electricity at all to massage your feet. Instead, it’s made of carved wood with dull spiked rollers that use reflexology to give your feet relief and relaxation.
It has 10 independent rollers and is suitable for feet of all sizes. It’s well-made and crafted from high-quality Theaceae wood, which is pretty sturdy. It doesn’t make any loud squeaking noises or slide out of place.
There are a couple of modes of use for this foot massager. In Kneading mode, you move your feet on the rollers in opposing directions. (See instruction manual included with this item for more details.) In Acupuncture mode, you place your feet on the rollers and press down. Release and relax, repeat. This applies focused stimulation on the targeted areas you press on.
It’s a simple massage item, but quite effective in relieving foot pain. In particular, people with plantar fasciitis have mentioned the TheraFlow foot massager as being quite therapeutic for them.
This product is 7.1 x 11.2 x 2.2 inches in size, and only weighs 1.6 pounds. It’s quite suitable for traveling.

9. Best High-End Foot Massager: MedMassager MMF06
MedMassager touts itself as the most powerful electric massager currently available to consumers without a license, with speeds of 1,000 to 3,700 rpm.
It has a large foot pad with an oscillating massage, equipped with an arch bar. The foot pad is ergonomically tilted at exactly the right angle for maximum comfort. You’ll also notice its ridged surface is similar to the Medi-Rub foot massager, and serves the same purpose of targeting pressure points.
Like the Medi-Rub foot massager, the MedMassager foot massager also welcomes its use by people with diabetes and neuropathy. Quite a lot of satisfied customers have reported its efficacy in improving their blood flow, relieving chronic foot pain from plantar fasciitis, and helping with neuropathic foot numbness.
It’s well-made and very durable. The motor is extremely quiet, so much that you can’t hear it running.
This product is 16 x 12 x 9.5 inches in size, and 11 pounds in weight. It is certified by the CSA for safety and reliability. There is an optional lifetime replacement warranty you can purchase on the manufacturer’s website.
