Best Inflatable Hot Tubs

Are you looking for the best inflatable hot tub to buy for private use? If you’re searching for one, then this means two things about you. The first is that you want the luxury of a Jacuzzi right in your home. The second is that you would rather not spend thousands of dollars for a premium hot tub right now.

And we don’t blame you. When I first heard of inflatable tubs, I’ll be honest, I thought it was a bad idea. However, diving more into it, I realized that I was completely wrong.

Why it’s a good idea to buy an inflatable hot tub

  1. People love their inflatable hot tubs! This means that these products are doing something right.
  2.  An inflatable is only a fraction of a cost of the cheapest ‘real’ hot tub.
  3. You don’t need to pay for and worry about renovation and installation.
  4. The same goes for the cost of regular maintanence.
  5. An inflatable tub can be easily stored away.
  6. You get to experience all the benefits of hydrotherapy: relaxation, stress and pain relief, circulation boost, heart health, and detoxification. Win-win.

What you need to know about inflatable hot tubs

Now let’s talk about the cons. Inflatable hot tubs share these downsides so rather than repeat them over and over below, we’ll just list them on here:

They only really fit 1-2 people

When you go to the product pages of these tubs, you’ll read that they can fit 4-6 people. Sure they can, if you’re packed in like sardines that is. If you want to sit comfortably though (which is the whole point – relaxation), then know that inflatables are good for up to 2 people.

They will increase your energy bill

Increased power consumption will always be a given with all of the below products. After all, you can’t get your warm bubbles without using up electricity to heat your bath water. Costs may run up to $80 to $150 if used regularly.

It usually takes 24 hours to adequately heat your hot tub

Most users just leave their tubs on but most, if not all, have automatic shut-off to avoid overheating.

They have a limited life span

Unlike premium hot tubs that are more expensive and made of solid materials, inflatables understandably have a limited lifespan.  If you buy into one with this understanding, you’ll be able to enjoy your hot tub better. Make sure to buy a hot tub with the best warranty and from a company with good customer support.

#4: Coleman SaluSpa

This Coleman inflatable is easy to setup despite the instructions just having pictures. (If it’s good enough for IKEA…!) The bubble action is powerful and the tub gets the water pretty hot.

Product information says it can fit 4 people but it’s best for 1-2 people. One good thing about the SaluSpa is the cushioned floor. Because it is padded, it makes for comfortable sitting or kneeling.

It features two easy-lift handles which make emptying it out a breeze.

  • Easy to maintain
  • Relatively durable compared to other brands

  • Poor assembly instructions
  • Shuts off periodically

#1: Coleman SaluSpa

No products found.

Similar to the other Coleman hot tub models on this list, it is easy to assemble and surprisingly durable. The bubble action is strong and effective. It’s a truly great way to relax at home.

It’s best to know when you’re actually using the hot tub so you can start heating the tub 24 hours prior. Its max temperature is 104 degrees.

The jacuzzi jets do bring the water temperature down a little, so it’s best not to run them all the time – half an hour at a time, then allow the water to pick up temperature before using again.

  • Full jacuzzi action
  • Has the highest product rating out of everything here

  • Jacuzzi jets will bring water temperature down

Value for Money?

Expensive, but may be a good investment for couples who want romance and luxurious relaxation in their lives.
